- make sure you have already installed adobe air 3 : http://get.adobe.com/air/
- install my application : DomainManager
- launch the application

Expired Domain Finder Beta – Lite Version
4 Feb 2012After my first adobe air application, i wanted to improve it to avoid the need to have a wpmage.com login and to retrieve fresh expired domain from godaddy.
If you would like to install and try the free lite version of the application :
- make sure you have already installed adobe air 3 : http://get.adobe.com/air/
- install my application : ExpiredDomainFinder
- launch the application
- wait for a couple of minutes for the application to retrieve all the datas

Disclaimer : i’ve done my best to detect fake PR, but please do your own homework… Also, as with all automated software, i recommended using a VPN to hide your ip. I personnaly use HMA VPN.
Expired domain analyzer

13 Dec 2011As yahoo link explorer is decommissioned right now and domain mage only offers yahoo links, i started to develop a software to check backlinks of expired domains with seomoz (opensiteexplorer).
I can retrieve the number of back links going to the homepage (www version) and the domain authority (metric by seomoz guys).
What i would like to add is additional filtering like :
- only show domains that is still indexed (at least 1 url in google)
- check if the domain is still available
- remove domain with age lower than 1 or 2 years
- maybe scrape expiring domains from https://auctions.godaddy.com/trpHome.aspx and retrieve statistics

- launch the application, enter your wpmage.com login/password (it is never stored and only sent to wpmage.com) and click “Retrieve Domains“

Quick update

1 Dec 2011Oh well, it’s been 4 months and a half that i didn’t update anything here.
I’ve been extremely busy trying to push several projects at the same time.
I wanted to give an update on what worked and what flopped since mid July.
Mage Monster
Here is my EPN (ebay partner network) earnings as of today : $1895.87
That’s right : almost $1900 since mid July.
That doesn’t take the expense into account like the Mage Monster initial investment, hosting, domain names.
Edit: at first i wanted to add a screenshot of EPN account but i’m not sure if it’s allowed by the TOS.
I should be around 170 websites and all of them are protected by QCB and AutoIpBlock against bots.
Amazon review niche websites
With 2 small websites, i should be around $20 – $30 / month, not that much.
Kindle ebooks publishing
Yep i was “slapped” by Amazon but i still have 10-15 ebooks and they earn me around $100/month, not bad !
The best part is that i don’t have to do any SEO at all.
Adsense niche websites
Not that successful because of the competition in google.
Clicbank affiliate for a product related to a movie
Made 5 or 6 sales only. Was worth the effort to learn, but not that profitable.
Too much competition to get on the 1st page of google.
My next project ?
It’s mobile app on the apple store, android store, windows phone store, kindle fire store.
I recently got a copy of TheAppCode (http://theappcode.com/), and so far it’s been a really good course.

16 Jul 2011My quest of online business began early May when i read “Founders at Work: Stories of Startups’ Early Days” by Jessica Livington.
I was moved last november by my current company from Paris to NYC, and it only made sense for me to look at joining a startup : i even registered to a NYC Startup Weekend last month.
But at the last minute, i decided to cancel it because of the time taken by all my online attempts.
Finally i stopped reading and took action.
I like to study, analyze, maybe over-analyze, so starting as soon as possible something that could generate money was new to me.
Long story short, i ended up hiring full-time virtual assistants to help me do the writing and SEO : it might seem stupid but it was actually cheaper than losing money on warrants on stock market.
1 month and a half later, i started to generate very small income compared to my full-time job, but the sensation is different to know that your websites are making money 24/7.
Here are the different strategies i’m exploring right now (i will detail them in future posts) :
- Making niche website monetized with Adsense
- Making product review website monetized with Amazon
- Publishing ebooks on the Kindle Store
- Making affiliate website (mainly Ebay and Amazon) with Mage Monster
- Making affiliate website promoting a clickbank product for the release of Captain America movie (July 22th 2011 in the US)
